LUBLINO LANDSCAPE
The apartment building is in the south-east of Moscow, in the Lublino district. AMMG Architects developed the concept of the building, the interiors of public areas and the landscaping project – thanks to this, it was possible to ensure stylistic unity and common techniques characteristic of the studio style. Compositionally, the building is a volume of a strict rectangular shape with an increase in the number of floors from 12 to 14 floors in the northern part and is oriented along the long side of the site to provide the required insolation. The house is located closer to the street, thus forming a private courtyard in the depth of the plot.
The correct shape of the courtyard and the structural composition of the building formed the basis for the principles of landscaping – the composition of landscape elements is also subject to strict geometric principles. The central alley, necessary for the arrival of guest cars and fire equipment, divides the site into 2 parts – on the left, closer to the entrance to the building, the authors placed a complex composition of flowerbeds and wooden tubs with trees, which are adjacent to benches, also made of wooden decking. The combination of shrubs of different heights, cereal plants, various paving, shingle filling and strict, proportionally adjusted small shapes gives rise to a visually complex and diverse landscape "Tetris", interesting for perception from various angles and successfully complementing the strict rhythm of the stained-glass windows of the 1st floor of the building. On the contrary, across the alley, a children's playground and sports grounds were placed, separated by a central bench, closed around the perimeter, inside which a weeping willow was planted – in its shade it is comfortable to sit and look after children playing or relax after workout exercises.
The second entrance to the territory, according to the transport scheme, is in the lower left corner of the site – the architects used non-standard techniques in the design. A virtual "gate" appears between the summer veranda of the cafe facing the street and three Canadian maples planted in concrete bollards made according to the sketches of the workshop. The red maple leaves have amazing graphics and attract the attention of passers–by - which attracts traffic to the cafe and ensures the interest of others in the architecture of the house. The decision with bollards is dictated by two factors: firstly, it is the desire to highlight and accentuate the road to the courtyard, and secondly, due to the placement of underground parking under the courtyard, planting trees in the ground was not possible due to the insufficient thickness of the soil above the concrete slab. Along 60 let Oktyabrya Street, which runs along the main facade, the customer decided to improve part of the urban area. The paving pattern in this part differs from the principles used in the courtyard, and is based on a composition of different parallelograms, the angle of inclination of which repeats the angle of rotation of the loggias on the main facade, which in turn give the strict facade a more elegant, plastic, and recognizable character, and provide one-room apartments with the necessary insolation. Several benches placed along the main facade are made according to the author's sketches and have a beveled concrete part, so that the whole composition becomes more dynamic, memorable and at the same time integral.
