SHOOTING GALLERY
To design the interiors of the shooting range for VIP clients, we were provided with a basement in an office building. While working on the design, we were striving for a modern, technological, sporty and "masculine" design. We needed to hit the target right away, and the target for our team was an up-to-date and trending design, comfortable, stylish and with a brutal character. For the development of the shooting zone itself, a specialized contractor was involved, our team designed the accompanying premises: reception for meeting guests, changing rooms and bathrooms, a recreation room, and an office block with a manager's office.
Polished steel, as the leitmotif of this design, helped to reveal the theme of the interior and give originality to the visual image. Using saturated, "warm" decorative lights, we have balanced the steel panels that are widely represented in wall decoration. Models of modern small arms, as a decor with a special, unusual aesthetics, we used in the showcase at the reception area. The facades of the reception imitate the surface of a slate rock with an untreated, rough surface. The ceiling was left open, the concrete floor and the communications passing through it were painted. In contrast to the industrial aesthetics of ventilation systems, lamps in the form of metal strips with LEDs resembling a trace of tracer bullets and local suspended spots in the form of elegant black cylinders were placed.
Dynamism and intrigue to the image of the shooting gallery is also given by the decoration of the walls with barn wood panels placed at different angles to the vertical, depending on the proportions of the room. This tilt gives additional dynamics, and in combination with multiple reflections in the stainless-steel walls, the rooms begin to resemble game locations in an action game. They also paid attention to the thematic decor – for example, vases in the form of cartridges of various calibers were placed at the reception desk, the dressers in the meeting room resemble rather army boxes for ammunition and ammunition, the coffee table in the recreation room is made of khaki metal, on which inscriptions like inventory seals in army structures were applied.
In the recreation room, the brutal atmosphere was diluted with a curved surface with a photo print on the theme of a desert landscape, creating an allusion to a halt on a long journey in a military expedition in an unfamiliar country. A decorative dried branch complements the impression that "travelers"-visitors have finally found an oasis after hard trials. However, the oasis is very comfortable – a coffee machine was built into the minimalist furniture composition opposite, and a full set of dishes was provided for a comfortable break. The bathrooms continue the aesthetics of the military, played out in the form of precision and aesthetic details. On the wall, the print in the form of half a target, reflected in the mirror, looks like a solid circle, broken by bright linear illumination. The sink is made of a solid stainless-steel plate and seems to be part of the wall, organically fitting into the interior.
